1. buy fresh flowers
There's something about buying fresh flowers at the supermarket that adds a touch of luxury to the mundane of grocery shopping. Better yet, support a local florist! My mood is vastly improved when I catch a glimpse of peonies or tulips brightening up my home. "Just because" flowers are a great way to pamper yourself these days!
2. exfoliate with a sugar body scrub

I love taking a long, luxurious bath to indulge in self-care. To elevate the experience, exfoliate head to toe with an invigorating body scrub. It helps to stimulate blood flow while shedding dead skin cells, leaving behind glowing, radiant skin. Yes, please!
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups melted coconut oil
1 T sea salt
15 - 25 drops of your choice of essential oils (lavender, eucalyptus, bergamot, ylang ylang are great options)
directions
In a small bowl, mix the sugar, coconut oil and sea salt together, then slowly add in the essential oil. Mix well and pour in to an air-tight container. In the bath (or shower), allow the warm water to soften your skin for 5-10 minutes. Gently massage the sugar scrub over your body in slow circles. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry. Don't forget to moisturize after to help protect your skin's natural moisture barrier.

3. get some fresh air
Whether it's a daily walk or just stepping out on your front step or deck, taking time to breathe in the fresh air can do so much for your state of mind. Go outside and take three deep breaths and use one of the affirmations below (or one of your own!) to ground yourself. You'll feel renewed and ready to tackle what's next.
affirmations
Today is a great day.
I will be present in every moment.
I will stay calm, even in the midst of chaos.
I am safe.
I am enough.

4. dive into a good book

My absolute go to for self-care is to dive into a good book. Unplug from your phone or better yet, put it in another room, and give yourself at least fifteen minutes to read uninterrupted. If you really want to indulge, pour yourself a glass of wine or a cup of tea to enjoy while you read. The best.
Some of my favorites books I've read lately have come off Reese's Book Club list, including Glennon Doyle's Untamed. Have you read anything great lately?
